The Purple Turtle in Reading is a longstanding bar and club that opened its doors in 1990 and has been the spiritual home of many customers. The venue is famous for showcasing many live bands on its main floor and live DJs on the lower floor, and it also offers one of the best beer gardens in Reading.
The Purple Turtle required the modernisation of its existing and rapidly dating outdoor display technology.
We provided a high bright and weather-proof outdoor LED display solution to replace two outdated projectors. Measuring 4.5x3m, we selected a pixel pitch of 5.9mm that provides the optimum viewing distance for customers seated within The Purple Turtle’s beer garden.
This screen allows The Purple Turtle to showcase daytime sporting events and use it to stream music videos and internal promotions in the evening without concerns over lighting or visibility.
By replacing two dual 7500 ANSI Lumen brightness projectors and projection screens, with a single LED display, The Purple Turtle gained valuable space in its loft that the projector units had previously filled.
The high brightness of the outdoor LED screen means it can compete with the varying light and weather conditions throughout the year, providing The Purple Turtle customers with year-round entertainment. This is the first time an LED display has been installed within a hospitality venue in the Reading area and positions The Purple Turtle as a pioneering entertainment venue.
