SEMrush

The Challenge

As Semrush expanded across Europe, the team needed a state-of-the-art town hall meeting space in their new Amsterdam office. The solution had to be intuitive and easy to use, as there would be no onsite tech support and remote access was essential for troubleshooting. The space also had to be adaptable for both large town halls and smaller meetings.

The Solution

We worked closely with Semrush’s project team from the early design phase, collaborating with architects to ensure cabling was installed before walls and ceilings were closed up, eliminating any visible wires. The space was designed to function as one large meeting environment or split into two rooms using a glass partition, with the AV system automatically adjusting to the room layout.

Shure MXW wireless microphones allow presenters to pick up a mic and start speaking with no additional setup, and Shure MXA920 ceiling microphones provide full-room audio coverage. Audio is delivered through ceiling speakers that have been configured with preset modes to change the configuration for the room set up, including U-shaped seating, theatre style, and to extend outside of the room for larger meetings where people are in another adjoining space.

Two Samsung 86” displays sit side by side at the front of the room to bring in virtual participants and presentations, and a 43” confidence monitor on a swivel mount is installed for presenters. Two PTZ cameras—one front-mounted between the displays and another in the ceiling—can be controlled via an iPad or the wall-mounted touchscreen for precise shot selection during live sessions.

The space is controlled through a Q-SYS ecosystem with a wall-mounted touchscreen and a roaming iPad. This system integrates seamlessly with Zoom Rooms for one-touch meeting starts and includes an online view for Semrush’s remote IT team to assist with any issues.

A custom-built AV rack in the server room houses all equipment, ensuring a clean, professional finish. Training was provided to both Semrush’s central IT team and the Amsterdam office manager to drive user adoption. The second space is futureproofed to include mounts for an additional display and a DJ connection point for client events.

Beyond the town hall, the office features a few private booths for smaller meetings and several meeting rooms with a Logitech Meetup and Google Meet setup.

This flagship Amsterdam project marks the start of a European rollout, with Project Audio Visual continuing to work with Semrush on future office deployments.
