Digital Health and Care Wales is the NHS Wales national organisation for delivering technology and data services needed by patients and clinicians. Working with Project Audio Visual, the solution was designed to update the rooms used by Multi Disciplinary Teams, enabling meetings between all management teams across the organisation.
The Project Audio Visual team created two Microsoft Teams Rooms environments, enabling video calling between departments whilst also presenting and collaborating on group working devices.
The installation features a 50” Microsoft Surface Hub 2S on a roaming Vision stand from smart meeting distributors Maverick AV Solutions. It can be moved between the spaces, and content can simultaneously be shared by a presenter in the physical room and on Teams calls.. Within NHS organisations, increasing amounts of information is stored and presented digitally and the reality of Covid-19 reinforced the necessity for high quality video conferencing capabilities. These displays are large, dynamic and do not require staff to learn a new UI.
In the key meeting room, an 85” Surface Hub 2s was specified, this time mounted to the wall, enabling the same experience for the team, but on a scale for more participants.
Freedom and dynamism are at the heart of this solution. The choice of camera and microphones allow participants to move and interact freely within the meeting, whilst everyone in the room can still be seen and individually heard perfectly.
To increase the ability to effectively interact with larger audiences in the room, or to enable spacing between participants, the solution features a Logitech Rally Camera alongside the display. The Logitech RightSight camera control ensured that the in-the-room users always looked as clear as possible to remote participants. Clear audio was enabled by microphones and audio processing equipment from Shure, alongside a Dante amplifier.
The integration of the Microsoft Surface Hub 2S 85” has expanded the team's ability to work effectively.
